Baltimore (USA). The idea of getting a child before marriage is generally not thought of all over the world. In the modern era, young people delay in getting married and then plan to have a child. But a different trend has emerged from this. American University claims that the desire of educated women to have their own child is increasing even before marriage. This study of researchers from Johns Hopkins University is making headlines all over the world. It has been said in the study that this was not the case at all in the 90s, but this historical change is being seen now.
The study was conducted by the social science department of the university. Sociologist Andrew Sherlin has said that some educated women with degrees are now having their first child before marriage. They get married after having a child and in some cases they are getting married after having another child. After marriage, the desire among educated women to have children is decreasing. They are getting married to start a family, to support the father of their children.

Describing his study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, Andrew Sherlin said that 18 to 27 percent of college-aged women who are now over the age of 30 were not married at the time of their first child. . The incident of marriage in their life is now shifting after the child. Such women want to have their first child without marriage and the number of such women is increasing. Sherlin used demographic data from three major surveys – the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health and the National Survey of Family Growth – to gather the facts in this study.
Sherlyn told that most of the women who have children before marriage have completed high school or its equivalent. At the same time, about 20 percent of the women who graduated were not married at the time of their first child. He said that in 1996 only 4 per cent of the women who studied in college were not married at the time of their first child, but twenty years later, the number of such women has increased by almost 6 times and they are about 24.5 per cent.
