The CBI has intensified the investigation and action of the violence after the elections in Bengal. So far four charge sheets have been filed.

According to CBI officials, the deceased was a BJP supporter and his family had alleged that Arjun Munda, one of the arrested accused, had taken Hardhan to the Rajaghoda river on May 3, where he was later found in a bloodied condition. According to the FIR registered in this case, Hardhan was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
The CBI on Saturday also arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a TMC supporter Sahinoor Ahmed in Toofanganj. It is alleged that on May 4, TMC supporters Sahinoor Ahmed and Prasenjit were having dinner, where four BJP supporters were also eating with them. After having dinner, Sahinoor and Prasenjit were attacked by the four BJP supporters and fled after throwing them in a nearby maize field in a badly injured condition. Prasenjit’s life was saved after treatment, but Sahinoor died.
