After this he smiled and said that my birthplace is Bakhtiyarpur. This time a person from here has started building Nalanda University anew. Why will we change the name of Bakhtiyarpur? People are talking about this place without any meaning. The name will not be changed.

Actually, BJP MLA Hari Bhushan Thakur Bachol had demanded to change the name of Bakhtiyarpur to Nitish Nagar. The BJP MLA had said that like Allahabad was renamed Prayagraj, Bakhtiyarpur should be renamed as Nitish Nagar.

Local people of Bakhtiyarpur also say that it is painful to name Bakhtiyarpur station after Bakhtiyar Khilji who destroyed Nalanda University. But, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s opinion is completely different from them. He is not in favor of changing the name at all.
