Explain that India is the largest producer and consumer of pulses in the world. In May this year, the government had removed tur and urad dal from banned to the category of free import. For import of restricted category products from abroad, first permission or license is required from the government. But after being put in the free category, these products can be imported at any time without permission.
The ministry also said in the notification notice that the procedure has also been prescribed for the refund of the application fee deposited by the applicants for obtaining import clearance of banned pulses during the period 2021-22.
